Some of the Gold Coast’s best artistic talent will converge on Burleigh Brewing early in November to exhibit at The Coast’s newest art event, named BLA! (Brewing Local Artists)
BLA! will feature a broad range of artists who reside here on the Gold Coast and provide a platform for artists to exhibit their work to the general public.
Live art displays are planned for the evening, allowing guests to gain an authentic experience and engage with the creative minds behind the artwork. The brief given to artists was centred around the iconic lifestyle that exists on the Gold Coast. Specifically, artists were asked to create a piece that they believe represents the Balance, Character & Soul of our beautiful back yard. Prominent local artist and exhibitor Luke Day commented, “If I can relate to a specific brief then it’s definitely a benefit so to have one that is open and well thought is great. I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s interpreted by the different artists.”
When asked about the reasoning behind developing the event, Burleigh Brewing CEO Peta Fielding stated “Here at Burleigh Brewing we lovingly craft works of art every day, then bottle them for others to savour”. To have such a creative, passionate group of local artists transform our brewery into a pop up gallery for the evening is something we’re very excited about”.
Artist Kiel Tillman who is exhibiting at the event highlighted the importance of events that support local artists, stating “Events like BLA! help promote both established and up and coming artists and illustrators which is great for the overall culture of the city.”
BLA! will feature artists who specialise in fine art, sculpture, photography & typography so expect to see a diverse and interesting collection on the evening.
BLA! is a free of charge event, which is open to the public and takes place from 5pm-8pm, Saturday November 5th. BLA! is proudly supported by Burleigh Brewing, Blank GC, Gold Coast Music Awards, Symphony Hill Wines & Solution Red.
