Brewing Local Artists

The Brewing Local Artist event is back for 2019, set for Saturday 16th of November from 3:00pm at Burleigh Brewing Taphouse. This year, Burleigh will host 15 artists exhibiting unique artwork and will offer $2,000 for the PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD and $3,000 for the JUDGES CHOICE AWARD to progress the future of two emerging local artists.

VOTE for your most loved artist at the Brewing Local Artists event and give an artist an opportunity they desire; be it funds to create a solo showcase, travel to Mona, invest in new art supplies or even contribute to an art education! …Lock the date in. The countdown has begun to live art, live music, gourmet Burleigh Eats by Oak and of course Burleigh Brewing world class craft beer!

The Brewing Local Artists event is FREE. All are welcome 🙂

Doors open at 3:00pm. Vote for your favourite artist. Winners will be announced at 7:30pm and will be awarded the renowned Burleigh Golden Growler Trophy!

Fenech Guitars 

In a small purpose built workshop meters from Australia’s Gold Coasts famous surfing beaches is where you will find Aaron Fenech, a skilled craftsman and luthier who handcrafts some of the finest guitars that are both visually and acoustically unique! Read all about him here.

Loretta Lizzio

An illustrator, painter and street artist, Lizzio’s work and murals can be found all over the world, from Melbourne, to Vancouver, to London. Learn more and view her artworks here.

Lotetta is also the Burleigh Brewing Artist in Residence for the month of October.


Buff Diss

Based in Melbourne, Buff is a tape artist. He began as an artist in the late nineties, with works first appearing on the streets and walls of Melbourne, before emerging in Tokyo, New York, Berlin and beyond. View his website here.

Buff will be performing LIVE ART during the event!


From a young age, Irok was an accomplished artist growing up in the western suburbs of Brisbane with a graffiti and street art background. This introduced the artist to experimenting with all types of mediums outside of just spray paint. His work now has a strong, confident message and representation of his life and the surroundings around all of us seen through his eyes and presented to others in a very real, moving and visceral fashion with his unique use of brush and acrylic house paint.

Louis Torris

Louis is a Gold Coast based tattoo artist and painter.



Michael Motteram-Smith (aka Shmick) is a multidisciplinary artist from the Northern Rivers NSW. Inspired by the coastline, rainforest, native animals and stunning surrounds. Shmick’s style consists of dreamscape compositions, expressionism, while incorporating a delicate balance of surrealism and realism. Read more about him here.


Kellie North

Kellie North is an award-winning photographer and visual artist with a deep desire to connect to nature, to her audience and to herself. She plays with texture, light, movement and nature, to create evocative, figurative images, which are connected to the sub conscious and are deeply engaging. Laurie Oxenford

Laurie Oxenford is an emerging Australian sculptor, producer, curator and painter based in the Gold Coast region. Her practice mixes a range of contemporary sculptural techniques including painting, assemblage, deconstruction and utilising recycled materials to alter functional found objects. Emily Rose

Emily is a multi-disciplinary artist who predominantly practises the art of wood burning,  also known as pyrography. When she is not playing with the pyropen, she enjoys working with graphite, charcoal and pastel pencil, as well as acrylic and watercolours. Her work is preoccupied with capturing character and representing the unique personality of her subject, whether it be faces of humans or nature.

CRT Designs

CRT Designs (Courtenay McCue) is a young emerging visual artist based on the Gold Coast. She pushes boundaries and breaks the rules drawing inspiration from the urban culture around her, with a unique street inspired style with a pop art twist. Learn more about Courtney and view her artwork here


Luke Davis

Better know as the Pencil Jedi, Luke has been a successful artist since a very young age and worked with a multitude of recognisable brands. Read more about him here.

Miriam Torres

Miriam is a Gold Coast based graphic & digital design artist and an illustrator.


Sapodia Lindley

Sapodia is a Gold Coast based film artist.


Jah Baldi

Jah is a photographer and Fashion and Interior Designer based on the Gold Coast. Working in branding, decorating and visual identities. Learn more about Jah and view her work here.

Ivan Lovatt

Ivan initially worked with driftwood and reclaimed timber, which he fashioned into exquisite representations of birds and wildlife, for which he won many awards. Since then he has become most renowned for his amazing chicken wire sculptures which clearly demonstrate his versatility and adaptability.

Jake Brereton

Jake is a local Ocean Photographer.
