Introducing Caitlin Cotterill of Gulfers

Burleigh Brewing has always been about balance, character and soul.

From the very beginning there’s been a deeper meaning to what we do. Beyond the creation of something special for others to enjoy, it’s about staying true to ourselves and supporting those around us as much as we can. Our ambassadors embody those values. People who are striving for excellence in their own way, having fun doing it and being a lovely person in the process. Which is why we're proud to properly introduce you to Caitlin Cotterill. Originally hailing from New Zealand, Caitlin is a professional golfer and one half of Gulfers (the duo behind the golf content you've seen sprinkled on our feed). A go getter and incredible talent, get to know Caitlin below.

How did you get into golf?
I played a lot of sports growing up, loved swimming, cross country especially. Dad took me after school one day and I just fell in love with it, started getting lessons, and attended summer camps which eventually led me to competing. My sister got into the sport at the same time I did, around age seven, so we both sort of pushed each other in the sport at a young age.

What is the wildest place golf has taken you?
I was selected to represent New Zealand at the WAAP over in Abu Dhabi, I got to visit Dubai which was an unreal experience. It was my favourite tournament to date. It was a part of the world I had never been before and I was so grateful golf took me over there. The Abu Dhabi Golf Club is one of the coolest courses I've been to and had the opportunity to play.

How do you maintain balance in your life?
Balance comes and goes...we have busy periods and quieter periods when we go in and out of season. But what I find helps me the most is being organised with my schedule, colour coded and all so I know what I'm working on in the gym, at golf, with meetings, what posts need to be scheduled for social media etc. and also scheduling off days so I can let my mind and body have a break. Google Calendar is my saviour.

Where is your favourite spot for a beer?
Burleigh Brewing Taphouse for sure.

When you’re not golfing, where would we usually find you?
I love being outside and active. I go to the gym, go on hikes, swim and love to read by the pool.

What’s your pick from the Burleigh lineup?
Burleigh Bighead is my favourite, I love a lager!
